In Silicon Valley it is common for multiple purchase offers to be made for a home listed for sale. The seller often responds with a multiple counter offer to some or all of the offers. A normal counter offer can be accepted by the buyer creating a valid binding contract. A multiple counter offer, since it is sent to multiple buyers, may have multiple buyers accept it.
